Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has announced the issuance of a new commemorative silver coin to highlight "Oman Vision 2040." This coin is intended to embody the Sultanate's aspirations for comprehensive development and a sustainable economy under its leadership.
The coin features a unique design that reflects the national identity. The front side displays the Sultanate of Oman's emblem, along with the names of Oman and the Central Bank of Oman, the denomination in both Arabic and English, and the year of issue. The reverse side showcases the "Oman Vision 2040" logo in color, surrounded by visual elements inspired by the vision's identity.
This issuance is part of the CBO's efforts to commemorate important national milestones and raise public awareness of the goals of "Oman Vision 2040," which serves as a national framework for achieving sustainable progress and prosperity.
The commemorative coins are considered legal tender at their face value. They are available for purchase from the Central Bank of Oman's branches in Ruwi, Salalah, and Sohar, as well as through the Oman Post sales window at the Opera Galleria, starting from August 18, 2025.
