MUSCAT- An encouraging response has been received to the first Active Oman Half Marathon 2025, which will be held at the Oman Automobile Association (OAA) arena on Thursday, October 23.
The Active Oman Half Marathon 2025 will feature two main race distances: 21 kilometres and 5 kilometres.
The event aims to promote a culture of fitness and physical activity across different segments of society by providing a motivating environment that combines challenge, fun, and health. The race welcomes runners from companies, institutions, and the general public, representing a wide range of age groups — from under 18 years old to over 50 years old.
The event is organised in conjunction with Omani Youth Day, which highlights the importance of empowering young people, supporting their talents, and encouraging their athletic initiatives. It reflects their vital role in shaping the nation’s future and reinforces the significance of sports as a pillar of healthy and active living.
Active Oman serves as an integrated destination dedicated to sports, fitness, and recreation. The venue includes a wide range of facilities and activities such as VR Golf, the Shooting Club, Karting Track, billiards and snooker halls, and modern fitness gyms at Strike, making it an ideal hub that combines entertainment and physical well-being in one place.
Organisers are hopeful of making this half marathon a valuable addition to the sports events calendar in the Sultanate of Oman.
