Muscat:  HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, today patronized the celebration of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) on its Annual Day, which falls on 3 November every year.

The ceremony, held at the Military Parade Ground at Said bin Sultan Naval Base, included the graduation of batches of university officers and executive officers (holders of the General Diploma) and a batch of new recruits, in addition to presenting various military displays. These displays reflected the skill and efficiency of the RNO personnel and the supreme attention the RNO receives from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, as it takes confident strides toward further modernization, development, and armament in equipment, materiel, and human competencies, thereby strengthening its military capabilities to carry out its immense national responsibilities.

The celebrations commenced with the playing of the Royal Anthem. HH Sayyid Theyazin, the patron of the occasion, then reviewed the graduates' parade. Following this, the parade performed a display of regular and slow military march, passing the main dais and rendering the military salute to the chief guest. The RNO Music Band then presented a diverse musical display and musical artistic formations.

Subsequently, the participants in the parade formed a symbolic sailing ship representing the shape of the RNO vessel "Shabab Oman II". This was followed by a demonstration of pole-climbing skills accompanied by enthusiastic naval chants. After that, HH Sayyid Theyazin, presented the Sword of Honor to Officer Cadet Said bin Hamed Al Anboori, who achieved first place in the Executive Officers Course. He also honored Officer Cadet Al Munthir bin Said Al Maamari, who achieved first place overall in the University Cadet Officers Course.

The participants chanted the RNO anthem ("Bahriyat Al Majd" - Navy of Glory), then took the oath of allegiance and chanted the call of support, and cheered three times for the life of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander. The parade then advanced in review formation, followed by the playing of the Royal Anthem, marking the conclusion of the RNO Annual Day ceremony.

On this occasion, Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, stated: "The Third of November has dawned upon us, and we are cloaked in glories immortalized by history—a glory that testified that the Omanis are the masters of the sea and its great sailors. Its features were drawn by a vision whose foundations of glory and might were laid by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, to be a symbol of might and leadership.
