
Muscat: OQ Gas Networks announced the completion of acquisition of the gas pipeline with diameter of 36 inches at the concession block 61 (Ghazir) from the Government of Oman.
The deal of acquisition exceeded OMR39.9 million and included 65 kilometres of basic structure for transmission of gas, which represents a strategic expansion for the natural gas transmission network in the Sultanate of Oman.
The addition of Ghazir 61 gas pipeline to the base of assets is a vital achievement in the unification of the ownership, operation and maintenance of the assets of natural gas transmission in the Sultanate of Oman under the umbrella of OQ Gas Networks, which supports the company’s long term strategy for boosting the efficiency and resiliency of the basic structure of energy.
Mansour bin Ali Al Abdali, Chief Executive Officer of OQ Gas Networks said that this strategic expansion in in the network boosts the integration of the energy systems in Oman.
This acquisition enhances the company’s vision in the field of basic structure of energy and is a key pillar in the support of economic and industrial growth in the Sultanate of Oman, he added.
