Salalah Airport welcomes inaugural direct flight from Moscow

Muscat: Salalah International Airport has officially received the first direct flight from Moscow, marking the launch of Oman Air’s new seasonal route between the Russian capital and the southern Omani city. 

The new service will operate twice weekly, aiming to enhance connectivity and promote tourism in the Dhofar Governorate.

This strategic move is expected to significantly boost the region’s tourism sector, particularly during the popular winter season when Salalah’s temperate climate and natural beauty attract international visitors. Tourism authorities anticipate that the new route could bring over 7,000 visitors from Russia during its inaugural season.
