Iranian Foreign Minister thanks His Majesty for hosting talks

Muscat: Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi held talks in Muscat with an American delegation headed by Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy, in the presence of Jared Kushner.

In a statement to Oman TV, Dr. Araghchi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for the Sultanate of Oman’s hosting of the Iranian-American talks and for the facilities and support provided.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the talks with the American side were conducted in a positive atmosphere, during which views were exchanged and concerns and interests were discussed regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement between the two sides on the Iranian nuclear dossier.

Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres expressed his appreciation to the Sultanate of Oman for facilitating the resumption of talks between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as to the countries of the region whose efforts contributed to making the talks possible. He voiced hope that these discussions would help reduce regional tensions and prevent a wider crisis.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan affirmed its full appreciation for the role of the Sultanate of Oman in hosting the negotiations, reiterating its support for the efforts of brotherly and friendly countries aimed at de-escalation, achieving regional calm, and finding peaceful solutions through diplomacy and dialogue.

The Arab Republic of Egypt expressed its full support for the resumption of negotiations between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, held in Muscat, commending the constructive efforts exerted by regional countries to reduce tensions and reach a peaceful and sustainable resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue.

The State of Kuwait welcomed the negotiations hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, expressing hope that the ongoing talks would lead to a comprehensive agreement that serves the interests of both parties and contributes to preserving the security and stability of the region.

The State of Qatar also expressed its appreciation to the Sultanate of Oman for hosting and facilitating the negotiations, praising its efforts, alongside a number of brotherly and friendly countries, to defuse the crisis and enhance opportunities for constructive dialogue to address outstanding issues.
