Royal Decree promulgates National Geospatial Data and Information Law

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal decree No. 43/2026 on promulgating the National Geospatial Data and Information Law, after presenting the same before the Council of Oman.

Article (1) states that the provisions of the National Geospatial Data and Information Law, attached to this decree, shall be enforced.

Article (2) stipulates that the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs shall issue the executive bylaw for the law attached to this decree, as well as the decisions necessary for the enforcement of its provisions. Till such time, the existing regulations and decisions shall continue to take effect, without prejudice to the provisions of the attached law.

Article (3) states that those subject to the provisions of the attached law shall adjust their status in accordance with its provisions within six months from the date of its enforcement.

Article (4) cancels all that contradicts the attached law or contravenes its provisions.

Article (5) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from the day following its date of publishing.
