UTAS Board holds third meeting in current 2025-2026 academic year

Muscat: The Academic Board of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) on Tuesday held its third meeting in the current academic year 2025-2026.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Said bin Hamad Al Rubai’ee, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Chairman of UTAS Academic Board.

The Board discussed the progress made in the preparedness of UTAS for inclusion in the QS World University Rankings, endorsed the university’s graduates for the fall semester (2025/2026 academic year) and approved the university’s Admission Plan for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.

The Board also reviewed a proposal to apply a comprehensive institutional framework that integrates the principles of sustainable development into education, research, innovation and community engagement in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

In addition, UTAS Board looked into steps to integrate the University’s policies and procedures to make them more comprehensive, clear and flexible and to formulate them in accordance with the University’s new strategic plan.

It also reviewed all of the University’s future policies (in preparation for submitting them for final approval) and considered the special status of some of the university’s students.
