Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman today celebrated the first day of Eid Al Adha 1447 AH, as His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik offered the Eid prayer at Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat of Sohar, the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
The prayers were performed alongside His Majesty the Sultan by some of their highnesses members of the Royal Family, Al Busaid dignitaries, senior officials, military commanders, as well as a gathering of sheikhs (tribal leaders) and citizens.
The congregation was led by Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, who delivered the Eid sermon.
The sermon focused on faith, pilgrimage, and nationhood. It emphasized that the core objectives of the Islamic faith lie in developing a conscientious individual and integrating belief with righteous deeds to foster a virtuous life.
The sermon highlighted the significance of the Hajj ritual and its comprehensive benefits, which contribute to strengthening accountability, sound governance, intellectual renewal, and national stability.
Furthermore, the sermon addressed the importance of leveraging positive diversity to create opportunities for progress and prosperity. It also reflected on the wisdom with which the Almighty Allah has endowed the Sultanate of Oman—through the inspired leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, a conscious populace, and integrated institutions that drive achievement and entrench development and stability.
Following the prayer, His Majesty the Sultan received well-wishes greeting him on this blessed occasion. His Majesty exchanged Eid greetings with them, accompanied by his warmest wishes for a happy Eid filled with goodness and blessings. He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for their genuine sentiments and kind prayers.
As His Majesty the Sultan left the Mosque, the artillery fired a twenty-one-gun salute for His Majesty.
