Traditional Omani Games Season 2026 kicks off in Salalah

Salalah: The Omani Traditional Games Season 2026 kicked off at Al Dahariz Beach in Salalah on Thursday. The 3-day event, which coincides with Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season, is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The event seeks to promote public awareness and familiarise visitors to the Governorate of Dhofar about Oman's rich heritage in traditional games and sports.

It also lends support to the tourism sector by offering a programme of sport activities, including Dhofar Governorate’s Clubs Championship for Omani Traditional Games, an interactive platform where children can experience traditional games by using virtual reality technology and a mini exhibition that showcases photographs, paintings and displays about traditional games.
