Muscat: A periodic meeting was held at the headquarters of the National Centre for Emergency Management on Tuesday evening, chaired by Maj.Gen Abdullah bin Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs and Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Emergency Management. The meeting was held in continuation of the diligent national efforts to address the incident of the stranded oil tanker Caroline Bezengi.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the field situation and assessed the efforts carried out by the relevant sectors and specialised teams, in addition to evaluating the requirements of the next phase to ensure the situation is contained with the highest degrees of efficiency and environmental safety.
The meeting was attended by heads of sectors of the National Committee and representatives of the relevant competent authorities, within the framework of joint coordination among the various sectors to address the incident.
