
Muscat— The Healthcare Management and Organization Committee held today its second meeting of 2026, chaired by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.
The meeting aimed to follow up on a number of topics related to developing the health system and enhancing integration among its various components.
The committee reviewed the project of the Unified National Platform for the Professional Registration and Licensing of Health Practitioners. This project aims to unify the procedures and standards of professional registration and licensing among the relevant health sectors and to develop accreditation mechanisms in a manner that contributes to raising the efficiency of procedures, enhancing readiness and improving professional practice.
The committee discussed the healthcare model through a presentation that addressed its executive pillars and the tracks for developing the provision of health, preventive, and therapeutic services.

Within the framework of enhancing integration in the provision of specialized care, the committee explored the unified national pathway for referring cancer patients and unifying treatment protocols.
This aims to organize and unify referral procedures among health institutions and reduce the timeframes required to access specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services. This is in addition to unifying the approved therapeutic practices and protocols, thereby enhancing the continuity and quality of care.
The committee reviewed a number of administrative and organizational topics listed on its agenda and took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding them. This supports the integration of the roles of health institutions and raises the efficiency of the healthcare management and organization system in the Sultanate of Oman.
