Muscat: Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, received a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain, as part of ongoing efforts by both councils to strengthen legislative cooperation and exchange expertise and best practices in enhancing administrative and technical performance within the secretariats of legislative bodies.
The Secretary General welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasising the deep-rooted ties between the Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain, supported and nurtured by the wise leaderships of both nations.
He highlighted the significance of such visits and joint meetings among secretariat staff of legislative councils, in line with the joint recommendations of the GCC Legislative Councils’ Speakers and Secretaries-General meetings, both at the regional and international levels.
These engagements contribute significantly to sharing expertise, exchanging successful experiences, and fostering institutional development.
During the visit, the Bahraini delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on the Shura Council’s organisational structure, including its various departments and secretariats, along with their respective roles and operational procedures in managing administrative and financial affairs.
The delegation also toured the Council's premises, including a visit to the Oman Council Library, which houses a rich and diverse knowledge base serving researchers and those interested in legislative affairs.
They also viewed the main deliberation hall, where Council members conduct discussions and legislative debates during sessions.
The visiting delegation commended Oman’s Shura experience, noting the maturity of its consultative process and the advancement of systems and technologies that support and enhance the efficiency of legislative work.
