Cappadocia: As part of the Oman Balloons Project, the Sohar International Balloon celebrated its launch in the Turkish city of Cappadocia, one of the key international destinations for balloon tours.
The joining of the Sohar International Balloon came within a strategic partnership aimed to boost the Sultanate’s place as an international tourism destination in the field of adventures and aerial tourism.
The launch of the new hot air balloon which holds the brand “Sohar International” is celebrated under the atmosphere that reflects the deep-rooted cooperation among the partners and their role supportive to tourism and the national economy.
The joining of the balloon is a significant step within Oman Balloons Project, aimed to offer a unique tourism experience in Oman, mainly in the Wilayat of Bidiyah, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, through the daily tours during the tourism season from October to May every year.
The Civil Aviation Authority contributed to this project through the technical and organisational supervision and provision of all permits and procedures necessary to guarantee the safety of aerial operations coupled with the support of the efforts targeting localisation of this industry and transfer of the international expertise to the Sultanate of Oman.
Sohar International Balloon would promote tourism in the Sultanate of Oman and create job opportunities for the Omani youth coupled with transfer of the knowledge in this industry and in operation and maintenance of balloons.
The flying of Sohar International Balloon represents a new stage in Oman Balloons Project as it targets making Oman a regional hub for hot air balloons in the Middle East and Africa.
The ceremony was attended by the representatives of Oman Balloon Co. and its strategic partners including Pasha Balloon of Turkey, which is one of the international companies operating in making and operating balloons.
