Bank Muscat: A Leading Journey in Empowering Omani Women and Enhancing Their Role in the Banking Sector and Society

Muscat: Omani Women’s Day, celebrated annually on the 17th of October, is a national occasion that highlights the remarkable achievements of Omani women and their growing contributions to building the nation across economic, cultural, political, and social spheres. The celebration of this day stands as a recognition of women’s active participation and success in driving the Sultanate’s sustainable development.

Omani women play an integral role in the banking sector in general, and in the continued growth and performance of Bank Muscat in particular. Women currently represent over 46% of the Bank’s total workforce of more than 4,000 employees across various departmentsand branches throughout the Sultanate. Notably, Omani women hold 20% of executive management positions, underscoring the Bank’s commitment to investing in talent and empowering young female professionals to assume leadership roles.

On this occasion, Wafa bint Ibrahim Al Ajmi, Assistant General Manager – Government Banking, expressed her pride and appreciation for the achievements of Omani women, saying: “We extend our sincere appreciation and pride to every Omani woman who has proven her capabilities across all fields and contributed with dedication and excellence to the nation’s growth underthe wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. This experience laid a strong foundation for my career growth until I reached my current position as branch manager. Arwa bint Saud Al Rashdi, Branch Manager – Meethaq Islamic Banking Main Branch, said:This special day carries deep meaning—it is not just a celebration, but a living testament to the high status and trust placed in Omani women by our leadership.

Naima bint Rashid Al Balushi, Manager – Inbound Operations, Meethaq Contact Center, said: “This day is a tribute to every Omani woman and the essential role she plays in national development.
