Manah: The first International Conference on Creative Industries and Sustainable Innovation, "Creative Horizons," began on Sunday in the Wilayat of Manah, l ’Dakhiliyah Governorate.
The two-day conference is organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa and is held at the Oman Across Ages Museum, with the participation of a select group of academics and researchers from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
The conference addresses four main themes, namely developing innovative and sustainable policies and strategies for creative industries, the role of technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing efficiency and sustainability practices, creativity in service of the circular economy and sustainable growth, in addition to creative practices in design, media, architecture, and urban planning.
The first day featured an opening session titled "Innovation for Sustainability: A Global and Local Vision," where speakers reviewed modern trends in supporting creative industries and their impact on the sustainable economy. This was followed by scientific sessions that discussed research papers on the role of artificial intelligence in design and media production, digital technologies in preserving cultural heritage, innovation in technical and creative education, and the transition towards a circular economy through the arts.
It is worth noting that the First International Conference on Creative Industries and Sustainable Innovation serves as a platform that blends the academic character with the creative spirit in the fields of cultural and creative industries, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence in arts and media.
