Ibri: Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, visited Al Dhahirah Governorate on Monday afternoon.
Her Highness the Honourable Lady visited Al Muhallab bin Abi Sufrah Hall in the governorate, where she reviewed a comprehensive exhibition of governmental, community, and student-led projects and initiatives in the fields of applied sciences, economics, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation. The exhibition serves as a testament to the pivotal role of community engagement in driving sustainable development.
Her Highness received a briefing from Najeeb bin Ali Al Rowas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, on the governorate's strategic vision and completed projects. She also listened to presentations from several speakers detailing ongoing initiatives and future developmental opportunities.
Her Highness the Honourable Lady further observed a series of visual presentations that highlighted key developmental indicators and prospects for the governorate, including presentations by Al Dhahirah National Company, the Ibri Charity Team and Al Wafa Social Center.
Her Highness graciously held an audience with a distinguished delegation of women's representatives from Al Dhahirah Governorate. The warm and cordial meeting reflected the deep affection and profound esteem in which her presence is held by the people of the governorate.
As part of the visit, Her Highness the Honourable Lady toured the historic Ibri Fort, acquainting herself with its most prominent architectural and historical landmarks. She also went on tour of a special exhibition featuring initiatives from various sectors, including products from productive families and women entrepreneurs. The exhibition displayed a collection of archaeological artifacts excavated from the Bat archaeological site—a UNESCO World Heritage location—alongside traditional artisan crafts and cultural displays that portray the rich Bedouin and urban heritage of Al Dhahirah Governorate.
Her Highness commended the exceptional heritage value of the fort, emphasising the importance of its preservation and its continued role as a cultural and tourist destination that educates future generations on the history and ancient legacy of the Wilayat of Ibri.
Following the tour, Najeeb bin Ali Al Rowas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, presented Her Highness the Honourable Lady with a commemorative gift. In return, Her Highness graciously penned a commemorative note to mark the occasion of her visit.
This visit to Al Dhahirah Governorate forms part of Her Highness's ongoing tour of the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. It underscores her steadfast support for the empowerment of women and youth, reinforces the framework of sustainable developmental partnership and reflects her commitment to engaging with community-led projects and initiatives, all within the overarching context of the renewed renaissance ushered in under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
