Oman launches first mobile research laboratory for genetic resources

Muscat: The Oman Animal and Plant Genetic Resources Center (Mawarid) has inaugurated the Sultanate’s first mobile research laboratory dedicated to genetic resources and life sciences. This pioneering initiative aims to extend specialized laboratory services to various governorates across the country.

The mobile lab is designed to accelerate scientific research and enhance the efficiency of sample collection and preservation. By bringing advanced laboratory capabilities directly to the field, the initiative supports national efforts to safeguard Oman’s rich biodiversity and promote innovation in genetic research.
