Duqm: The Special Economic Zone at Duqm, Governorate of Al Wusta, will see the opening of two new projects on Wednesday: One is the dualisation of the Sultan Said bin Taimur Road and the other is dualisation of the Ras Markaz Road.
The ceremony will be held under the auspices of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
The two projects reflect the keenness of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) to boost the attractiveness of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm and to facilitate the movement of citizens, residents and investors.
The dualisation of the Sultan Said bin Taimur Road (National Road 32/South) aims to improve traffic in the centre of Duqm city and to establish a modern urban environment that keeps pace with projects taking place in the vicinity. It also helps ease the flow of traffic between the centre of Duqm City, adjoining commercial, industrial, tourism and logistics areas and Duqm Airport.
Meanwhile, the dualisation of the Ras Markaz dual carriageway aims to connect the oil storage area and new investment zones (in the renewable energy, fisheries and food industries) with different investment zones. It also seeks to enhance the network of transport in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
