Shaping the future: Oman empowers students and teachers through digital education

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has trained over 92,000 beneficiaries, issued 58,000 specialized certificates, and empowered 1,303 schools, benefiting approximately 843,235 students and 65,820 teachers during the 2025/2026 academic year, highlighting the Sultanate’s commitment to digital transformation in education.

These achievements were showcased on Tuesday at the InnoXera Global Summit 2026, held at the St. Regis Resort under the theme “Future of Innovation in Smart Learning and Training.”

Under the patronage of H.E. Majid bin Said al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the summit brought together high-level representatives from government entities, ministries, and the private sector to explore innovations in educational technology.

Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed al Kindi, Director General of Vocational and Technical Education, emphasised, “The Ministry’s sponsorship of this summit for the second consecutive year reflects Oman’s commitment to achieving digital educational leadership that places teachers and learners at the heart of transformation.”

Eng. Mohammad Almadani, CEO of Classera, described the summit as “a fundamental pillar for regional innovation,” and showcased AI-driven learning technologies, Augmented Reality (AR), and gamification tools designed to enhance creativity and learning outcomes.

The summit featured experts such as Dr. Maimuna bint Humaid al Abri from Sultan Qaboos University, international representatives from UNESCO and ICESCO, and launched the C.XCEED initiative to support EdTech startups, selecting 10 startups from over 260 applicants across 61 countries.

Prioritising inclusivity, the event provided sign language interpreters and featured Sultan Al Amri, the first Arab deaf presenter and Sultan Qaboos Award winner for Voluntary Work, with partners including the Tawasul Training Institute and the Tarjama Omani sign language app.

The summit concluded with strategic agreements, discussions on “Humanising AI” and “Green Education,” and an awards ceremony recognising schools and initiatives that have made significant advances in digital education.

InnoXera Oman 2026 cements Oman’s position as a leader in blending technology with education to prepare future generations for the digital era.
