
Muscat: From 2026, some Indian schools in Oman are reducing the duration of summer holidays by at least 10 to 15 days, following new academic calendar guidelines.
Indian School Muscat, in a circular issued recently, announced revised vacation dates for the 2026 academic year.
According to the notice, summer break for Classes IX to XII will run from May 31 to July 11, 2026, while students from Balvatika to Class VIII will have their vacation from May 31 to July 19, 2026.
The winter break for all classes, from Balvatika to Class XII, has been scheduled from December 20, 2026, to January 2, 2027.
The school said the changes were implemented as per guidelines received from the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman.
With the revised calendar, the annual summer vacation has been reduced from 50 days to 40 days.
