Muscat: The Foreign Ministries of the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Turkey, the Syrian Arab Republic, the State of Palestine, the State of Kuwait, and the Lebanese Republic, along with the Secretariats of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the League of Arab States, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, express their strong condemnation and grave concern regarding the statements made by the United States Ambassador to Israel, in which he indicated acceptance of Israel’s control over territories belonging to Arab states, including the occupied West Bank.
The Ministries affirmed their countries’ categorical rejection of such dangerous and provocative statements, which constitute a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and pose a serious threat to the security and stability of the region.
The ministries emphasised that these statements directly contradicted the vision put forward by US President Donald Trump, as well as the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, based on containing the escalation and creating a political horizon for a comprehensive settlement that guarantees the Palestinian people the establishment of their independent state. They affirmed that this vision is based on promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and that any statements that seek to legitimize the control of others' lands undermine these goals, fuel tensions, and constitute incitement instead of contributing to peace.
The ministries reiterated that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory or any other occupied Arab territories. They also expressed their complete rejection of any attempts to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, their strong opposition to the expansion of settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, and their categorical rejection of any threat to the sovereignty of Arab states.
The ministries warned that Israel’s continued expansionist policies and illegal actions will only fuel further violence and conflict in the region and undermine the prospects for peace, and called for an end to these inflammatory statements. They reaffirmed their countries’ unwavering commitment to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, to the establishment of their independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, and to the end of the occupation of all occupied Arab territories.
