Muscat: A landslide has been reported on the Wadi Adai–Al Amerat road in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, prompting authorities to divert traffic to two lanes as a precautionary measure until the road is confirmed clear of debris.
Relevant teams have been deployed to assess the site, remove debris, and ensure safe passage for motorists. Authorities have urged road users to exercise caution, follow traffic instructions, and use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays and ensure safety.
Open for only four-wheel drive vehicles
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology announced that the road leading to Al Fay for those coming from Al Buraimi is currently open only to four-wheel drive vehicles, due to prevailing conditions.
The Ministry added that specialized teams are working continuously to reopen the Al Fay–Al Wajajah Road, with efforts underway to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
Authorities urged all road users to exercise extreme caution, follow traffic instructions, and reduce speed when approaching the area until maintenance and reopening works are completed.
