
Muscat: The sectors of the National Committee for Emergency Management continue their efforts to address the impacts of the weather condition (Low-Pressure System "Al-Masarrat"), ensure the safety of citizens and residents, and accelerate the restoration of essential services to normal operation, amid ongoing coordination among the various relevant sectors.
The Relief and Shelter Sector of the National Committee for Emergency Management clarified that the number of currently activated shelter centers has reached six, distributed across various governorates, housing 138 individuals. The total number of people who have been sheltered since the beginning of the weather condition has reached 539.
For its part, the Essential Services Sector reported significant progress rates in service restoration. The rate of restored paved roads has reached 98 percent, and unpaved roads 88 percent. Meanwhile, the rate of restored electricity services has reached 99 percent, and telecommunications 83.7 percent. The restoration rate for water and sanitation services has reached 95 percent, fuel 99 percent, and waste management 98 percent.
As far the health sector is concerned, the Medical Response and Public Health Sector indicated that all health facilities are operating normally, with the exception of the Al Mazare’a Health Center in the Wilayat of Qurriyat (Muscat Governorate), which remains closed until further notice due to the impact of the weather condition on the access road.
