Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Marks International Jazz Day 2026

Muscat--- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth organized a musical evening today in celebration of International Jazz Day. The event was held at the auditorium of Oman Music Centre, as part of the strategic approach to enhance the cultural and musical movement in the Sultanate of Oman.

Through this event, the Ministry seeks to highlight Oman's presence on the global music scene and showcase national artistic capabilities by presenting a musical performance led by a distinguished group of Omani musicians. This artistic experience reflects the quality of local musical production and its ability to engage with international musical genres.

This evening also falls within the Ministry's efforts to support the cultural creativity ecosystem by nurturing national talent, providing professional performance platforms that contribute to the development of the artistic scene, and enhancing community participation in international cultural events. This deepens artistic awareness and solidifies the status of the arts as a contributor to sustainable cultural development.

This event comes within the framework of engaging with international cultural initiatives led by the United Nations. International Jazz Day serves as a global platform for establishing the values of cultural dialogue and human rapprochement, as jazz music represents a creative space that transcends borders, bringing together diversity and renewal, and reflecting the spirit of openness and convergence among peoples.

The evening was attended by music enthusiasts and a wide audience from various segments of society.
