
Mexico City: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman National Committee on Large Dams, has officially announced its accession to the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). The announcement took place during the 94th Annual Meeting of ICOLD, hosted by the city of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco, United Mexican States.
The meeting, which witnessed broad participation from dam sector experts and water resources management specialists representing various countries worldwide, formally recognized the Sultanate of Oman’s admission to ICOLD. This milestone reflects Oman’s growing presence in international forums dedicated to water resources management and the advancement of dam sector development.
This recognition underscores the advanced standing the Sultanate of Oman has attained in the fields of dam engineering and water resources management, while reinforcing the principles of safety and sustainability.
Membership in ICOLD provides Oman with a vital platform to benefit from specialized global expertise, foster innovation, adopt best international practices, and enhance the visibility of Omani expertise in relevant international technical forums and conferences.
