MUSCAT – Prashant Pise, who has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to Oman, has completed a key formality ahead of taking up his assignment in Muscat by receiving his letter of credence from Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
The Embassy of India in Muscat said that Ambassador-designate Pise recently met President Murmu, who formally presented him with the credentials authorising his diplomatic posting to the Sultanate.
A career diplomat from the 1995 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, Pise was named as India’s envoy to Oman by the Ministry of External Affairs in May. He will replace G.V. Srinivas, who has headed the Indian mission in Muscat since 2024.
With more than 30 years in the diplomatic service, he has held assignments in Cairo, Tripoli, Tokyo and Mauritius, and has previously served as India’s Ambassador to Tunisia. His experience also includes senior diplomatic roles covering West Asia and European affairs.
