
London--- The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 137th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council, which was held at the IMO headquarters in London.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed by Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport, with the participation of representatives from a number of military and civil entities concerned with the maritime sector.
This participation comes as an affirmation of the Sultanate of Oman's active presence in the work of the International Maritime Organization. It highlights its role in enhancing the security and safety of maritime navigation, protecting international sea lanes, and supporting international cooperation in a manner that ensures the smooth flow of global trade and the sustainability of maritime transport.
