For his part, Mohammed bin Aufait Al Mashani, CEO of Corporate Affairs at the Port of Salalah, said, “The port's hosting of the forum reflects its commitment to supporting sustainability practices and developing disclosure and governance practices in line with the best international standards.”

Al Mashani explained that sustainability has become a fundamental pillar for achieving growth. He pointed out that the Port of Salalah maintains efforts to integrate sustainability principles into its various operations, focusing on raising operational efficiency and enhancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibility.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion session during which the participants came up with a number of recommendations laying emphasis on the importance of upgrading the quality of sustainability disclosures, given that listed companies have achieved 100% compliance with sustainability disclosure requirements.

The session also highlighted the need to enhance companies' readiness to align with the Financial Services Authority's directives on the application of international standards for sustainability, besides benefiting from digital platforms to improve efficiency and speed of disclosure and communication with investors.

In addition, the recommendations underlined the importance of encouraging analytical coverage and financial research for listed companies and transparency, with the aim of boosting fair and efficient share pricing and attracting a wider range of local and international investors.
