Sur Industrial City signs six investment contracts worth over omr56mn in H1 2026

Muscat: Sur Industrial City, operating under the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has successfully signed six investment contracts during the first half of 2026 with a total investment value exceeding OMR56 million. Covering a total area of more than 60,000 sqm, these newly secured projects span a diverse range of key sectors, including tourism, energy, gas, telecommunications, and food production.

Eng. Nasser bin Hamoud Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, stated that the total cumulative investment in the city rose to OMR2.3 billion by the end of the first half of 2026. The city currently employs 1,843 workers, of which 1,076 are Omani nationals. “Madayn is preparing to implement a lineup of key future projects in Sur Industrial City. These developments include the maintenance of Wadi Crossing No. 6, extending irrigation water to the Green Belt area in the city, and the infrastructure development for the ship docking area dedicated to shipbuilding and maintenance industry,” Al Mabsali pointed out.

Al Mabsali informed that the first half of 2026 saw the completion of detailed designs for the ship docking facility, along with the general and detailed design for the city’s master plan. Trial operations also began at the 'Sur-1' solar power plant. “Aligning with Oman Vision 2040, the city remains focused on building strong infrastructure, attracting investments, and supporting economic diversification. As part of Madayn’s efforts to strengthen institutional performance and support sustainable growth, the city recently launched the Institutional Excellence Competition. Meanwhile, Sur Industrial City is preparing to unveil investment opportunities across training, medical, quarry operations, and labour accommodation sectors,” he added.
