Muscat: Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized 571 non-compliant school products in Muscat Governorate as part of its regulatory efforts ahead of the new school year.
The seized items included 81 school bags, 23 files, 21 pens, 440 stickers designed for Crocs footwear and six water bottles. According to the Authority, the products featured inappropriate images and illustrations, including images associated with the Kuromi character.
The seizure was carried out as part of the regulatory measures accompanying the CPA’s “Back to School” campaign, which aims to strengthen market surveillance during the back-to-school season.
The Authority said the necessary measures were taken against the non-compliant products, stressing that its ongoing efforts are focused on enhancing commercial establishments’ compliance with the regulations and requirements governing the market.
The CPA has also urged consumers to report any violations through its consumer hotline.
