Musca– The National Centrte for Statistics and Information (NCSI) is conducting a survey to measure citizens’ satisfaction with services provided by governorates’ offices, with the aim of assessing service quality, identifying areas for improvement and supporting data-driven development efforts.
The survey, scheduled from October 11 to November 5, 2026, seeks to gather citizens’ opinions and experiences regarding the quality and efficiency of services provided across the governorates.
It focuses on five key areas: hygiene and public health; oversight, inspection and management of public markets; public parks and gardens; governorate development efforts; and e-services and municipal permits.
The findings will help identify service gaps and development priorities, enabling the relevant authorities to respond more effectively to beneficiaries’ needs and expectations.
Mahfouz bin Salem Al-Musharfi, Director of the Public Opinion Measurement Department at NCSI, said the survey serves as a statistical tool for assessing citizens’ satisfaction with services that affect their daily lives.
He explained that citizens’ feedback would be analysed using approved statistical methodologies to generate indicators that help authorities identify strengths, address shortcomings and direct development efforts according to public needs.
Al-Musharfi emphasised that public participation and responses reflecting actual experiences were essential to ensuring accurate and meaningful results.
He also reaffirmed the centre’s commitment to protecting participants’ privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of their data in accordance with the Statistics and Information Law issued under Royal Decree No. 55/2019. The law prohibits the use of individual data for purposes other than statistical ones and restricts publication to aggregate information, safeguarding participants’ identities.
The survey forms part of NCSI’s efforts to generate reliable statistical indicators to evaluate service performance, improve efficiency and support development across Oman’s governorates, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
