State Council Office holds 7th meeting of third regular session

Muscat: The Office of the State Council held today its 7th meeting of the 3rd regular session of the 8th term, under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

The office discussed the opinion of the Legal Committee regarding the proposed draft "Bylaws of the State Council."

The Council's Office also discussed a study titled "Scientific Research and Innovation: Priorities and Measuring the Return on Development in the Sultanate of Oman," presented by the Education and Research Committee of the Council. The study aims to build an integrated national framework to measure the impact of scientific research and innovation and their return in the Sultanate of Oman through analysing the reality of the ecosystem, evaluating its efficiency, assessing the alignment of its priorities with the targets of Oman Vision 2040 and the needs of national sectors, and tracking the pathways of transforming research and innovation outputs into practical applications and added value.

The meeting addressed a number of proposed studies presented by the standing committees and honourable members of the Council for the 4th regular session of the 8th term.

Furthermore, the Bureau reviewed several reports submitted by honourable Council members regarding their participation in regional and international meetings and forums, as well as a report tracking the Council's activities during the preceding period.
