Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Labour has announced the implementation of a mandatory pre-arrival medical screening and visa processing system for workers arriving from the Philippines, starting Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to the ministry, the move has been implemented in cooperation with concerned authorities and Oman Post to improve recruitment processes for expatriate labour and raise the standard and efficiency of related services.
Recruitment agencies must comply with officially approved procedures when applying to recruit workers from the Philippines. The process includes conducting mandatory medical screenings through a dedicated online platform prior to the workers’ arrival in Oman.
Detailed implementation procedures and operational instructions will be distributed to overseas recruitment agencies in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Oman.
